Job Descriptions

Part-Time Summer Help

During the Summer months we are looking for individuals who would be interested in some more labor-intensive projects.  These projects might include baling/putting up hay, cleaning animal pens, field work, or farm construction projects to name a few.  Hours for these jobs would vary week to week and day to day.  So, we would be in constant contact with you to schedule you on an as needed basis.

We also will be possibly looking for an animal "caretaker" role on occasion.  This would be someone who would be willing to come in each day and feed and water all of our animals morning and/or evening.  If coming in the morning this would also include some general pens clean up.  This job requires someone who is committed to making sure our animals always have the best possible care.  Morning care is usually about 2 hours of work and evenings are about 1 hour.  This would be Monday-Friday with flexibility.

Maze Helper

The Maze Helper position is our main position.  For anyone who has done our maze before you are well aware of the employee presence we have inside our maze.  This is both for the convenience of our customers who will never feel TOO "lost" but also for the safety of our maze.  As a maze helper you will be expected to constantly walk and supervise your section of the maze.  You will be helping keep track of group progress in the maze and talk to other maze workers to alert them of new people entering their sections.  Along with keeping an eye on any groups that may present any safety issues for our maze or customers.  This is all an important part of keeping our maze looking great and our customers having fun.   Maze Helpers will be stationed on their own in the maze with a radio to talk to other workers in their section.

Parking Attendant

Parking Attendants are an integral part of our business on busy weekends or weeknights with large groups.  With our limited amount of parking, parking attendants are in charge of making sure the lot is parked as efficiently as possible.  This position requires that employees talk and direct cars to the correct spot, and get cars parked at the correct angle in their spot.  One or two mis-parked cars in the lot can cause a parking issue for the entire day!  On weekends parking attendants may also be asked to help scan tickets or hand out wrist bands upon entry.  This is a somewhat fast paced job that requires constant communication between employees and attention to your surroundings.

Parking Manager

Parking Managers will be responsible for all ticketed admission to the farm on weekends.  They are the first people who greet customers in the lot to scan in their tickets, give them their wristbands and welcome them in!  This is an extremely important position and requires someone who is not afraid to answer questions.  You will be required to talk to every single customer who enters, give a brief explanation of what to expect on the farm and then direct them where to park.  You will also be selling tickets directly to customers at the gate, or in advance when time slots are sold out.  This job will include a pay increase above normal wages and will require availability during all weekends.  An ideal candidate would be able to work a shift both Saturday and Sunday, or either day in its entirety.  This is only a weekend position.

Animal Helper

Animal Helpers are one of the most important roles on the farm as they help keep our animal family happy and healthy!  While everyone will help pitch in with cleaning animal pens and setting up the animal area daily, the animal helpers will be in charge of the area.  They will be required to keep an eye on our feeders and letting us know if they are running low. You will also be in charge of watching customers interact with our animals.  Several of our animals have to be on strict diets so they cannot be fed, and the animal helper is there to make sure that is avoided.  You will also be given some sheets with basic information about all of our animals, that we then expect you to share with our customers as you see fit.  We are happy to teach you everything we know about our animals so that you can share that knowledge with everyone else!  This job is VERY dependent on the employee being able to socialize and talk with all of our guests, so an outgoing personality is a must!

Hayride Driver

For many of our guests, the hayride is one of the most memorable parts of the farm experience.  That being said, we will be looking for a few outgoing individuals to help us continue that legacy.  This position will only be available to applicants over the age of 25. (Unless you have LOTS of tractor experience) We will train you on safely operating the equipment and how to use our new sound systems.  However, the hayride drivers will also be expected to add their own personality to their ride and make our guests feel at home.  This position will mostly be needed Friday-Sunday but will also be needed on weekday mornings to help with school field trips, and during the week for large groups or holidays.  This position will include a pay increase above normal wages but consistent availability throughout the season will be a must.

Weekday Registers (Dayshift)

During the week will be looking for people to help run our registers during the day.  This job will require some money handling, cash register training, and customer service.  You will be the main point of contact for all customers on the farm during the day at our front counter.  This can be a perfect job for a stay-at-home parent while the kids are at school, or a retiree looking for some shorter hours during the week!  This position will also have the opportunity of starting earlier in the day and helping run our school field trips.  To do so, some previous experience in teaching, or childcare is preferred as all of our field trips are educational and led directly by us!

Concession Stand Helper

The concession stand helpers are people who will be backing up our main registers.  As lines get long on busy weekends this is a very fast paced, detail-oriented job that requires constant listening and awareness.  You will be in charge of getting concession orders out quickly and accurately so that the lines move along.  It may also include refilling coolers, or hot beverage containers and making popcorn.  This position is for weekends only but may include some weekday evenings for special events if needed.

Donut Cook Assistant

This year we are looking for 1 or 2 people who preferably already have some kitchen experience to help with making donuts.  This position will require some earlier morning hours on weekends (6-7am) along with weekend days and some weekdays.  This job will include mixing, frying and finishing donuts for sale along with helping clean the donut room after.  The position will start by assisting the lead donut cook but may evolve into solo work in the donut room.  This position will include a pay increase above normal wages but will require availability EVERY weekend of our season for morning shifts.

Shift Lead

Shift Lead is a position for experienced employees only.  The shift lead position is one that will help oversee all other employees in their specific area/s.  This will include:

-Checking the employee schedule to know who will be working with them on a given shift

-Communicating with managers about any issues or improvements needed in their area

-Communicating with their area employees to switch for any bathroom or lunch breaks

-Conducting general oversight of customers or employees in their areas and making sure everything is being done up to our standards in terms of a family friendly, efficiently run business.

Shift lead will include a pay increase above normal wage.  This will also require at least 5 day a week availability throughout our fall season.
